This Privacy Policy explains how Tithra (“Tithra”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Tithra mobile application and website. Tithra provides Telugu Panchangam, calendar, festival information, astrology and related informational services.

1. Information We May Collect

Account information

If you create an account, we may process information needed to provide the account and sign-in service, such as your name, email address or phone number, depending on the sign-in method you choose.

Birth and horoscope information

If you use horoscope features, you may provide your name, date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. This information is used to calculate and display horoscope-related results and personalized astrology features. Horoscope charts, rashi and nakshatra are calculated on your device.

Muhurtham details, including other people’s details

To find a muhurtham (wedding, engagement, house warming, foundation stone, naming, annaprashana, vehicle puja and similar ceremonies) you may enter names, birth details and optional family details such as father’s and mother’s names and gotra, for yourself or for other people such as a bride, groom or child, together with the ceremony place and your preferred dates. The muhurtham calculation runs on your device and these details are saved only on your device so that you do not have to type them again. Please enter another person’s details only with their permission (or a parent’s or guardian’s permission for a child).

Muhurtham patrika, horoscope PDFs and WhatsApp posters

Lagna patrika / muhurtham patrika documents, horoscope PDFs and WhatsApp Status posters are created on your device. They are saved or shared only when you choose to download or share them, using your phone’s own Downloads folder or share sheet. Once you share a file with others, it is outside Tithra’s control.

Poster photo and name

If you choose a photo to place on WhatsApp Status posters, the background is removed on your device using Google ML Kit, and the cut-out picture and the name you type are stored only in the app on your device. They are not uploaded to Tithra’s servers. You can change or remove them at any time, and they are removed when you use “Delete Account & Data”.

Location information

If you grant location permission or manually select a place, Tithra may use the selected location, such as city and geographic coordinates, to calculate location-dependent Panchangam and astronomical times. Location access is optional.

AI astrology questions

When you use AI astrology, your questions and the horoscope context necessary to answer them may be processed through Tithra’s secure server-side AI service. API credentials are not placed in the mobile application.

Palm and face photos

If you use the palmistry or face-reading features, the palm or face photo you take or select is sent securely to Tithra’s server-side AI service (which uses Google’s Gemini AI) together with your request and horoscope details, so that the reading describes what is actually visible in the photo. The photo is used only to produce that one reading: Tithra does not store it on its servers or use it to identify you. Google processes it under the Gemini API terms. Only send a photo of your own palm or face, or of someone who has agreed. The photo remains on your phone only as long as you keep it in the app.

Advertising

Free users may see banner ads and may choose to watch a short rewarded video ad to unlock extra content (for example another muhurtham date, a full horoscope or an extra AI question). Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may collect and use device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID, IP address and ad-interaction data to show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, as described in Google’s policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. Premium subscribers are not shown ads.

Usage allowances stored on your device

To give free allowances (such as free readings each week and unlocked items), the app keeps small counters on your device. They are not used to identify you.

Device and technical information

Limited technical information may be processed by the services the app relies on (sign-in, AI service hosting, Google Play billing and AdMob) for security, diagnostics and service operation.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide Panchangam, calendar and festival information.
• Calculate horoscope and astrology results from information you provide.
• Provide AI astrology responses when requested.
• Find muhurthams and create muhurtham patrika, horoscope PDF and poster files on your device.
• Show ads to free users and grant rewards for watched videos.
• Provide account, subscription and support functionality.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse and troubleshoot technical problems.

3. Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate Tithra, including authentication (Firebase / Google Sign-In), hosting, AI processing, Google Play billing and Google AdMob advertising, subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.

4. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information only as reasonably necessary to provide requested services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and maintain security. When a valid deletion request is received, applicable personal data will be deleted or de-identified within a reasonable period, except information that must be retained by law or for legitimate security purposes.

6. Account & Data Deletion

Users can use the Tithra account deletion page or the in-app “ఖాతా & డేటా తొలగింపు (Delete Account & Data)” option where available. Users who cannot access the app can contact infotithra@gmail.com to request deletion. We may need to verify the request.

7. Children’s Privacy

Tithra is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us.

8. Premium & Google Play Billing

When Premium subscriptions are purchased through Google Play, payment processing is handled by Google Play. Tithra does not receive your full payment-card details through the app.

9. Health & Astrology Information

Health calculators and astrology content are informational and educational only. They are not medical, financial, legal or guaranteed predictive advice.

10. Your Choices

You may choose whether to provide optional profile, birth, family, location or image information needed for particular features. Device permissions (camera, photos, location, notifications) can be managed in your device settings, and your advertising ID can be reset in Android settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, legal requirements or data practices change. The latest version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
